If you mistakenly sealed an envelope, just place it in the freezer for about 2 hours. The cold temperature will make the glue to become hard and crack, splitting the seal that secures the flap without damages. To seal it again, hold the envelope over the steam of a tea kettle to melt the glue, for about 10 seconds.
